Ronin Backpack Navy

This backpack depicts a Ronin (masterless samurai) who has been disfavored by his superior. The writing is a poem stating his desire to continue to support his lord, despite betrayal by others. He is hiding behind his naginata to fend the arrows. Tsukioka Yoshitoshi (1839-1892), student of the renowned printer Utagawa Kuniyoshi, is the accredited artist.
